• Charity Spotlight and Book Giveaway: Every Child A Reader and the 2018 Children’s Book Week

Children's Book Week 2018 Poster by Jillian Tamaki from Every Child A Reader

This month we would like to shine a spotlight on Every Child A Reader, a nonprofit organization that is “dedicated to inspiring a lifelong love of reading in children and teens across America.”  Supported by grants and the Children’s Book Council, Every Child A Reader supports literacy programs to encourage reading with no cost to children or their caregivers. This month, they have their annual Children’s Book Week, which is the nation’s oldest national literacy initiative!

In their own words: "Every Child a Reader supports the work of thousands of parents, educators, librarians, and booksellers year-round. Our popular national programs include Children’s Book Week, the longest-running literacy initiative in the country; the Children’s Choice Book Awards, the only book awards chosen by children and teens; and the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature program, in partnership with the Library of Congress."

In honor of Children’s Book Week, we are partnering with Whitney Johnson of Beauty, Baby and a Budget with a BOOK GIVEAWAY for two lucky readers! To enter, simply like @whitjxoxo’s giveaway post, follow us on Instagram (@brysonsbooks), and tag a friend who would like to win a copy of one Bryson’s Book of their choice! The winner (and tagged friend) will be chosen at random and notified via Instagram.

For more information about Every Child A Reader and their great work, visit http://everychildareader.net/. You can support this non-profit through the purchase of this year’s Children’s Book Week poster by Jillian Tamaki (pictured above) as well as ones from their archives (we especially love the editions from 2006, 1983 and 1953)!

    Good Luck and Happy Reading!
